Skin Concerns
Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition that usually affects the face. Although its more common in women and people with lighter skin, the symptoms can be worse in men.
Symptoms of rosacea are redness (blushing) across your nose, cheeks, forehead, chin, neck and chest that comes and goes. The skin can appear bumpy like the appearance of acne. Red blood vessels can appear. The skin can feel hot and sore when applying products. The skin around the eyes can appear swollen and the lids can become dry and sore. It is not known what causes Rosacea, but certain triggers can cause a flare up. The triggers are, alcohol, hot drinks, spicy food, sunlight, change in temperature, exercise, stress and change in environment.
After a skin analysis, treatment is often a combination of active skincare and the appropriate treatment. some of these options are:
Dermalux
IPL Skin Rejuvenation
Nano Fractional Resurfacing

Acne
Acne is a common skin condition that affects most people at some point. It causes spots, oily skin and sometimes skin that’s hot or painful to touch. It is usually common on the face but can also be present on the back and chest.
This condition can affect someone at any age although it seems to be common during adolescents and early adulthood. It can cause scarring and a lack of self-confidence. The following are usually present-
Blackheads – small black or yellowish bumps that develop on the skin; they’re not filled with dirt, but are black because the inner lining of the hair follicle produces colour
Whiteheads – have a similar appearance to blackheads, but may be firmer and will not empty when squeezed
Papules – small red bumps that may feel tender or sore
Pustules – similar to papules, but have a white tip in the centre, caused by a build-up of pus
Nodules – large hard lumps that build up beneath the surface of the skin and can be painful
cysts – the most severe type of spot caused by acne; they’re large pus-filled lumps that look like boils and carry the greatest risk of causing permanent scarring.
After a skin analysis, treatment is often a combination of active skincare and the appropriate treatment. some of these options are:
Microdermabrasion (once pustules controlled)
Nano Fractional (for scarring)
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes flaky patches of skin which form scales. Psoriasis is a long-lasting (chronic) disease that comes and goes and, in some cases, can disappear for periods of time. People with psoriasis have a quicker turnover of skin cells. The build-up of cells creates flaky patches, the colour of these depends on the skin type but can range from red, white or silver. These patches normally appear on your elbows, knees, scalp and lower back, but can appear anywhere on your body. They can itch and become sore. Psoriasis is not fully understood what causes psoriasis, but it is caused by a problem with the immune system. Some people believe stress or trauma seem to aggravate it. There isn’t a complete cure, but certain treatments can help to control it.
The treatment options are:
Warts / Verruca
Warts / Verruca these are caused by the HPV virus and can spread easily. Warts can look brown, crusty and raised. Verruca often have a black dot in the centre of a flatter flaky area. Treatment option Cryotherapy Milia is a small cyst that appears like a pearly lump , it is made by a build-up of keratin. They are not easily removed at home. They can develop in clusters and seem to often appear around the eyes.
Treatment option:
Skin tags
Skin tags are small growths that look like small hanging pieces of skin, sometimes they are pigmented and look a little like moles. Skin Tags tend to develop around eye lids, under arms, on the neck and under breast around the bra line. They are caused when skin rubs together and exfoliating regularly can also prevent the build-up of dead skin cells.
Treatment option;
Cherry angiomas
Cherry angiomas are small red mole like lesions. They are caused by proliferating endothelial cells which are cells inside a blood vessel. They are very common especially in people 40 and above.
Treatment option:
Pigmentation/ Sun Spots
Pigmentation/ Sun Spots are caused by UV damage over time. More melanin is overproduced to try and protect the skin which creates pigmentation. These can be treated and further prevented. There are different treatment options to suit the individual and their budget.
